Toronto police investigating homicide after man found dead in North York home following disturbance call

Police responded to a disturbance call Sunday morning at a North York residence and found a man with traumatic injuries; the Homicide unit is now investigating.

Allen Road in North York, where they found a man with traumatic injuries who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Homicide and Missing Persons Unit has taken over the case as a homicide investigation.

Det. Sgt. Sanjeev Nair of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit told media at the scene that an unknown number of people fled the unit before officers arrived, including the suspect, heading north. There is currently no suspect description.
Police are reviewing surveillance video and appealing to the public: anyone who can identify the victim, help locate the suspect, or saw people fleeing the building around 8:19 a.m. is asked to come forward. The case is handled by 32 Division. Police also appealed directly to the suspect to contact a lawyer and turn themselves in.
No other injuries were reported. The victim's identity, weapon and cause of death have not been released.
