TTC Line 2 Bloor-Danforth service between St George and Broadview ends early at 10 p.m. Friday, October 30, for planned maintenance, with shuttle buses replacing trains, Bay and Sherbourne stations closed, and service resuming at about 6 a.m. Saturday; two evening sports events downtown add to demand.

TORONTO — Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Line 2 Bloor-Danforth service between St George and Broadview stations will end early at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 30, for planned maintenance work. Shuttle buses will replace subway trains on the affected section, and regular service is scheduled to resume at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 31.

Which stations are affected

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed during the shutdown, and the Yonge Street entrance to Line 2 at Bloor-Yonge Station will also be closed. The TTC says all other stations will remain open for customers to buy or load a PRESTO card or ticket and connect to surface routes, staff will be available to assist, and Wheel-Trans service will be available on request for customers who need it. Service plans can change with work conditions, so riders should check the latest TTC advisory before travelling.

Two sports events downtown tonight

The early closure coincides with two evening sports events downtown: the Toronto Raptors host the Orlando Magic at Scotiabank Arena, and the Toronto Marlies face the Hershey Bears at 7 p.m. at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Together with Halloween-eve activity downtown, the events are expected to keep traffic and transit demand high around downtown, Union Station and Exhibition Place after the evening rush, especially for fans heading home after the games.

This report is compiled from the TTC service advisory for October 30, 2026; shuttle buses stop at stations along the affected section, with boarding locations signed on site.
