Toronto TTC service changes take effect today: Eglinton trip two minutes faster, Long Branch streetcar service restored

The TTC's November 1 service changes touch subway, streetcar and bus schedules at once: Line 5 Eglinton runs two minutes faster end to end, rail service to Long Branch resumes while King Street West is diverted until mid-2027, Sunnybrook bus service is reorganized with the 124 Sunnybrook discontinued, and 200-series seasonal routes end for winter.
Toronto · Transit · Nov. 1, 2026 · The Toronto Transit Commission is implementing a round of service changes on November 1, with subway, streetcar and bus schedules changing on the same day. Riders should check the updated schedules before travelling, since the changes touch all three networks at once.
Subway and light rail: Eglinton two minutes faster
Lines 1 Yonge-University and 2 Bloor-Danforth get updated schedules for operational adjustments. Line 5 Eglinton gets new schedules with improved running times in all periods, thanks to improved operating conditions and enhanced transit signal priority: the one-way trip falls from 49 to 47 minutes, two minutes shorter.
Streetcars: Long Branch restored, King West diverted
On the streetcar network, rail service to Long Branch resumes, but service on King Street West is diverted until mid-2027 for track and sewer projects, a plan previously announced. Service improves on the 505 Dundas and 510 Spadina routes: 510 cars will run every 5 minutes in weekday peaks, midday and early evening, compared with current headways of 6 minutes to Queens Quay and 12 minutes to Union. Service on the 509 Harbourfront is reduced in line with the seasonal drop in demand.
Buses and seasonal routes: Sunnybrook reworked, zoo routes end for winter
On the bus network, service to Sunnybrook Hospital is revised, consolidating the 11 Bayview and 52 and 352 Lawrence West services, and the 124 Sunnybrook disappears. Several express routes are affected: some services, including the 904 and 939, which have run to Kennedy Station via Scarborough Town Centre, will be cut back to Scarborough Town Centre. Seasonal service ends for the 200-series routes to the Zoo, Bluffer's Park, Cherry Beach and High Park, which are discontinued for the winter.
