Woodbine Racetrack reports that two-year-old filly Sunday Finery won Sunday's Grade 3 Mazarine Stakes at Woodbine in Toronto. The $175,000 race for two-year-old fillies was run over 1 1/16 miles on the main track with a field of five; Sunday Finery broke from post position four and, ridden by Sahin Civaci, powered home along the rail to win by 6 3/4 lengths in a final time of 1:44.29.

Second straight route win; Princess Elizabeth Stakes on November 28 could be next

Mrs D finished second, followed by Epic Affair, Mo Cookie and Homeawayfromhome. Sunday Finery, bred in Ontario by Bernard and Karen McCormack, was the only filly in the race with two-turn experience on Woodbine's all-weather surface, having broken her maiden by 13 1/2 lengths on September 26. The win improved her record to 2-1-1 from five career starts, undefeated at the distance; trainer James Begg said the 1 1/16-mile Princess Elizabeth Stakes on November 28 could be next.
