CrowdStrike to buy Fiddler AI and Dreadnode in near-$500M push to secure enterprise AI agents

CrowdStrike announced on November 3 at Fal.Con Europe that it has signed definitive agreements to acquire AI observability startup Fiddler AI and automated security-testing startup Dreadnode; The Wall Street Journal, via TechCrunch, put the combined price at about $495 million, a figure the company itself did not disclose.
Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike announced on November 3 at Fal.Con Europe that it has signed definitive agreements to acquire two AI security startups: Fiddler AI, which builds observability software for AI agents, and Dreadnode, which automates security testing. Both deals remain subject to customary closing conditions and are expected to close in CrowdStrike's fourth quarter of fiscal 2027. The company did not disclose purchase prices; The Wall Street Journal, as reported by TechCrunch, put Fiddler at about $400 million and Dreadnode at about $95 million, about $495 million combined, mostly cash with a portion in stock subject to vesting.
Fiddler becomes Falcon Observe: seeing what agents actually do
Fiddler AI, founded in 2018, had raised about $99 million before the deal. Folded into the Falcon platform as Falcon Observe, it will let enterprises evaluate agents before deployment, trace what they actually do in production, and feed that telemetry into CrowdStrike's security architecture. The pitch is straightforward: as autonomous agents spread inside companies, security teams first need to answer what those agents are doing.
Dreadnode joins Falcon Guardian: finding flaws before launch
Dreadnode, founded in 2023 and previously funded with about $14 million, automates security testing that hunts for flaws in AI models, applications and agents before they go live. It will become part of Falcon Guardian, with its test results arriving as security policy recommendations. CrowdStrike also announced an AI agent kill switch for Falcon Guardian, to stop a problematic agent while it is running.
