US AI agent-cloud startup Daytona raises $60M Series B at $1B valuation

Daytona Platforms announced on Oct 23 a $60 million Series B round at a $1 billion valuation led by FirstMark Growth. The three-year-old New York startup builds cloud sandboxes for long-running AI agents, counting Anthropic, OpenAI and Nvidia among its customers.

Why it matters

As AI agents move from answering questions to carrying out tasks, their computing needs change: thousands of agents working at once each need an isolated, secure environment that can start fast. Daytona is building that infrastructure, and its new unicorn valuation shows how seriously investors are taking the emerging “agent cloud” category.

Daytona Platforms announced on Friday, Oct 23, that it had raised a $60 million Series B round at a $1 billion valuation led by FirstMark Growth, bringing its total funding to $91 million. FirstMark also led the company's $24 million Series A in February.

The round drew a roster of well-known angels, including Stripe's Patrick Collison, Shopify's Tobi Lütke, Perplexity's Aravind Srinivas, Zoom's Eric Yuan, Datadog's Olivier Pomel, Quora's Adam D'Angelo and Mercor's Brendan Foody, alongside institutional participants Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next and Okta Ventures.

The three-year-old New York company builds a cloud designed for long-running AI agents: each agent gets its own computer, running in sandboxed Linux, Windows and macOS environments with GPUs, where it can run code, browse the web and operate software. Founder Ivan Burazin said today's cloud was designed for long-lived services managed by humans, while agents spin up thousands of short, stateful jobs nobody planned in advance.

The company says its customers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Nvidia, Cursor and Cognition, using its sandboxes to train and test models, and that its revenue run rate grew 25-fold between January and September.
