Doberman tries to befriend a horse, bouncing along the fence to invite it to play

· N GLOBE

Rudy, a Doberman from Edinburgh, Scotland, approached a horse nose-to-nose in a field, then launched into a joyful fence-line performance to persuade his giant new acquaintance to play, in a video shared on Facebook.

Dobermans have a reputation as strong, fearless protectors, but Rudy, a sleek Doberman from Edinburgh, Scotland, threw that reputation out the window in a video that has delighted viewers: meeting a horse in a field, his first instinct was to make a friend. According to Parade Pets, creator Tommy Allan shared the video on Facebook. In it, Rudy approaches the horse with cautious curiosity, and the two go nose-to-nose for a sniff, sizing each other up the way any two strangers might. Once satisfied the horse means no harm, Rudy goes into full happy-frenzy mode, tearing up and down the fence line, legs flying, tail going and ears flopping, putting on the performance of a lifetime to invite the enormous creature to play.

Viewers loved the uninvited friendship bid, and as Parade Pets notes, dogs and horses form bonds more often than people realize. Whether the horse accepted the invitation is left unsaid, but Rudy's persistence alone was enough to win the internet's heart.
