Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton revealed on the fan stage at the United States Grand Prix weekend that he gave a golden retriever puppy named Halo to his girlfriend's children this year; the puppy has already appeared on social media wearing a racing helmet several sizes too big.

Away from the racetrack, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton recently shared his softest gift yet. On the fan stage at the United States Grand Prix weekend in Austin, asked what brings him joy outside racing, he first mentioned his niece and nephew, then his girlfriend's children, before revealing: "I got them a dog this year. Little Halo is a member of that family." Formula 1 shared the exchange on TikTok as a wholesome hour with Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

A puppy flown from Maine to Los Angeles

Halo is a golden retriever puppy. Maine-based breeder Goldiva Goldens announced on social media that it was flying her to Los Angeles for Hamilton, and his dog trainer of 14 years then flew to Maine to pick her up. Photos of the puppy wearing a racing helmet several sizes too big have since circulated online.

For Hamilton, the gift also carries a touch of remembrance: his beloved English bulldog Roscoe, a familiar face in the paddock, died in September 2025 of pneumonia, aged 12. Halo's arrival adds a new four-legged member to the extended family.
