Meta Q3: Muse agent passes 10 million users, 2026 AI capex floor raised to $135 billion

Meta reported Q3 revenue of $64.6 billion, up 26%, with net income of $9.86 billion after a $9.9 billion legal charge; Zuckerberg said on the October 21 earnings call that the Muse personal agent passed 10 million users about 40 days after launch, and 2026 capex guidance was raised to $135–145 billion.
Why it matters
Meta reported third-quarter results after the US close on October 21: revenue beat expectations, but a $9.9 billion legal charge for the teen mental-health settlement ate nearly 40% of operating profit. The focus was all AI: the Muse personal agent passed 10 million users about 40 days after launch, and the company raised the low end of its 2026 AI capital spending to $135 billion — Wall Street's AI infrastructure spending race is still accelerating.
Full report
Meta's Q3 revenue was $64.6 billion, up 26% year over year and above consensus estimates of about $63.3 billion; net income was $9.86 billion, or $3.83 per share, below the expected $5.75, mainly due to the roughly $9.9 billion legal charge tied to a multistate teen mental-health lawsuit settlement. According to MarketFlux and Seoul Economic Daily, quarterly capex reached $34.9 billion, and shares rose more than 5% in after-hours trading.
On the earnings call, Mark Zuckerberg said the Muse personal AI agent, launched September 8, has been set up by more than 10 million people in the US and Canada, with about a quarter of users using it daily; shopping is the most popular use case, and more than a quarter of engaged users who shopped through the agent averaged purchases above $200. He said Muse could eventually generate more revenue per user than Meta's existing Family of Apps (currently several hundred dollars per user annually), with the ambition to serve billions. The company also raised 2026 capex guidance from $130–145 billion to $135–145 billion and will issue new non-voting Class C shares to fund the AI buildout.
