According to LAPD accounts cited by KABC/ABC7 and other outlets, the shooting happened around 11 p.m. Friday (KTLA reported 11:05 p.m.) at University Plaza, at the corner of Nordhoff Street and Reseda Boulevard, adjacent to the CSUN campus. Officers had been called about a large party and heard gunfire on arrival.
The two victims — a man and a woman believed to be between 18 and 25 — succumbed to their injuries at the scene, an LAPD lieutenant confirmed; their identities had not been released. NBC Los Angeles also reported one person was stabbed amid the chaos. Aerial video showed dozens of handcuffed people lined up outside the plaza after being escorted from a lounge, as officers secured several businesses.
