Full report

The City of Vancouver says advance voting for the 2026 municipal election will take place on October 3, 7, 10 and 13, with voting places open 8am to 8pm. General voting day is Saturday, October 17, also 8am to 8pm.

Vancouver uses a Vote-Anywhere model: voters may cast a ballot at any voting place in the city. Vote-by-mail applications opened September 8. To vote, a person must be 18 or older on Election Day, a Canadian citizen, have lived in BC for at least six months, and live in or own property in Vancouver.

The City is also partnering with the Vancouver Public Library and CIVIX on Kids Vote and Student Vote: from October 3 to 17, children from preschool to Grade 3 can cast their own ballots at library branches across the city — the first time the program has run for the full voting period since its 2018 debut.
