Full report
The Lupus Research Alliance is the world's largest private funder of lupus research. Its president and CEO, Albert T. Roy, said: 'The progress we're seeing in lupus research today is possible because of a community that never stops pushing for answers.' He said walkers, fundraisers and supporters are fuelling discoveries 'that have the power to transform the lives of people living with lupus.'
Saturday's event featured entertainment, light refreshments, face painters, a photo booth, a Kids Zone and inspirational speakers alongside the walk. For patients and families, it was both a fundraiser and a gathering — on days when there is still no cure, the community itself is part of the support.
