Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) says Transmission Auction No. 4/2026-ANEEL is being held on Friday, October 30, at the B3 stock exchange in São Paulo, providing for R$8.9 billion (US$1.67 billion) in investment in power infrastructure across seven states. The auction covers 1,866 km of new transmission lines and sectioning works, plus continued operation of 483 km of existing lines.

Seven states, 30-year concessions

The facilities are in the states of Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Paraná, Rondônia and São Paulo. Concessions will run for 30 years, with projects due to enter operation between 42 and 60 months after contracts are signed.

The largest project and regional breakdown

The largest project combines facilities in Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás and Paraná and passes through São Paulo, with R$4.113 billion in planned investment, 1,167 km of lines and an estimated 8,225 jobs. Other projects include R$1.071 billion for the São Paulo metropolitan region, two projects in Paraná totalling R$1.46 billion, and R$753.2 million for the Coletora Porto Velho substation in Rondônia. Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira said the investment cycle would expand energy routes, strengthen supply security and create conditions for new projects and jobs.
