The Washington Commanders turned a dreadful start into a rout on Sunday Night Football, beating the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 on November 1 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, scoring 27 unanswered points after falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter. It was Washington's first win in more than a month and its first NFC East win of the season.

A sloppy first quarter, then 27 straight points

Philadelphia looked in control early: kicker Jake Elliott opened the scoring with a field goal and running back Saquon Barkley capped a quick drive with a 3-yard touchdown run for a 10-0 first-quarter lead. Washington, meanwhile, committed a lost fumble, a missed field goal and a pile of pre-snap penalties. But the game flipped from the second quarter on: quarterback Jayden Daniels connected with wide receiver Stefon Diggs for an 8-yard touchdown to tie it at 10-all, Washington led 13-10 at halftime, and Philadelphia never scored again. Rookie kicker Drew Stevens made all four of his field goals, cornerback Rasul Douglas sealed it with an interception on Philadelphia's fourth-and-25 prayer late in the fourth quarter, and running back Rachaad White punched in a 1-yard touchdown on the next play to cap the scoring.

Daniels' first win in over a year; Eagles fall to last in the division

Daniels finished 16-of-29 for 217 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, plus 23 rushing yards; it was his first win as a starter since beating the Los Angeles Chargers on October 5, 2025. Washington's defense sacked Philadelphia backup quarterback Tanner McKee — starting his third game in place of the injured Jalen Hurts — five times and intercepted him once, holding the Eagles to 268 yards of offense. Washington improved to 2-4-1 and now sits two games behind the first-place New York Giants in a weak NFC East; Philadelphia fell to 2-6, its sixth straight loss and its first such streak since 2012, dropping to last place in the division. Next up, Washington hosts the 4-4 Los Angeles Rams in Week 9, while Philadelphia hosts the Giants.
