Hong Kong wins exclusive Vinexpo Asia hosting for five years: annual editions from 2027 to 2031, first one next June

The Hong Kong Tourism Board and Vinexposium signed a memorandum of understanding on October 30 under which Vinexpo Asia will be staged exclusively in Hong Kong for five consecutive years, 2027 to 2031, with the first annual edition set for June 8–10 next year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Vinexposium, the world's leading organiser of wine and spirits trade events, signed a memorandum of understanding in Hong Kong on October 30, establishing a five-year strategic partnership: Vinexpo Asia, the premier wine and spirits trade exhibition in Asia-Pacific, will be staged exclusively in Hong Kong for five consecutive years, from 2027 to 2031. The agreement was signed by HKTB Executive Director Anthony Lau and Vinexposium Overseas Events Director Déborah Sanchez, during the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival.
From biennial to annual
Vinexpo Asia was previously staged in Hong Kong every other year, bringing together producers, buyers and industry leaders from around the world. Under the new arrangement it becomes an annual event, with the first edition under the new format set for June 8–10 next year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. HKTB Chairman Peter Lam said five consecutive years as exclusive host reflects the confidence international organisers and the global industry place in Hong Kong, and reinforces the city's position as Asia's leading wine and spirits trading hub.
Beyond the exhibition halls
The two sides plan to expand the event and take it beyond the exhibition halls, drawing on Hong Kong's dining, culture and lifestyle to create a citywide experience, including wine tastings, food-and-wine pairing experiences and networking events spanning European, American and Asia-Pacific wine cultures. The HKTB says the goal is to attract more high-value visitors and drive growth across tourism, hospitality, dining and retail. Vinexposium noted Hong Kong has been part of Vinexpo Asia's journey since 1998, and the five-year run gives businesses continuity to plan and build long-term connections.
Witnesses at the signing included Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law, Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux Fabien Robert, and representatives of the Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The HKTB said it will keep pursuing more major international MICE events for Hong Kong, reinforcing its position as the World's Meeting Place.
