The Montreal Canadiens expect top forward prospects Michael Hage and Alexander Zharovsky to join the team late in the season, possibly for the playoffs, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday Headlines on November 7. Hage plays at the University of Michigan, while Zharovsky plays in Russia's KHL. The Canadiens beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in Toronto on Saturday, going 8-0-2 in their last 10 games for a 10-game point streak. (Cover photo is a file photo of the Canadiens in action.)

The Montreal Canadiens expect two of their top forward prospects to join the team late in the season. Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday Headlines on November 7 that Michael Hage of the University of Michigan and Alexander Zharovsky of the KHL's Salavat Yulaev Ufa are expected to be available to the Canadiens by the end of the season, possibly in time for the playoffs. The club is not looking to move either player before the trade deadline. (Cover photo is a file photo of the Canadiens in action.)

Hage in college hockey; Zharovsky awaiting a KHL release

Hage plays for the Michigan Wolverines, and the NCAA Frozen Four wraps up after the Canadiens' final regular-season game. Zharovsky, a second-round pick, has played only two games in the KHL this season, recording one goal and one assist, and is currently on the injured list, expected to be out until at least November 14. His KHL contract is expected to be terminated early, in a similar fashion to Ivan Demidov's arrival a few years ago.

Canadiens on a 10-game point streak; Minnesota next on Tuesday

The Canadiens are in fine form: they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in Toronto on Saturday, going 8-0-2 in their last 10 games and extending their point streak to 10, with an 11-3-3 record. Their next game is Tuesday at home against the Minnesota Wild, and Demidov remains the first returning player fans are watching for.
