Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, campaigning in Quebec City, laid out his government's first-100-days priorities if elected: cut the gas tax by seven cents a litre, create a government efficiency secretariat to target bureaucracy, launch consultations on education this winter, and reduce immigration levels. Liberal Leader Charles Milliard started the day in Lachute, west of Montreal, before heading to Trois-Rivières and Quebec City, warning voters tempted by the PQ against a 'spiral' toward separation — calling the sovereignty project 'archaic compared with the economic reality' and dubbing the UK's Brexit experience 'Bregret.'

Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette used a campaign stop in Saint-Hubert, on Montreal's South Shore, to urge voters to stick with what she called the CAQ's 'third way' between federalism and sovereignty, saying a referendum on separation is not a priority. Conservative Leader Éric Duhaime campaigned in Quebec City on a high after recent polls showed his party gaining ground, targeting 12 seats in the National Assembly. Québec solidaire co-spokesperson Ruba Ghazal made a final pitch in Montreal around public services, reiterating promises on housing, public transit and the cost of groceries.

Sovereignty has returned to the forefront in the campaign's closing days, with the PQ leading the polls and promising a referendum in 2029. The final Léger poll (Oct 3) put the PQ at 29%, Liberals at 25%, Conservatives at 20%, the CAQ at 14% and Québec solidaire at 11% — with five parties potentially winning seats for the first раз в 50 років.
